The images only pop onto the screen for less than a second or two so my advice is to not invest time here.
Hey, everyone! So, I am making plans to build my own vintage custom build computer very soon running Windows 98 SE. I recently saw somebody edit the Windows 98 Bootup Screen a few days ago, and I've always wanted to do that. I recently heard about the hidden files LOGO.sys, LOGOS.sys, LOGOW.sys, and IO.sys, and learned their locations and functions. I do know the LOGO.sys manages the startup screen, and LOGOS.sys and LOGOW.sys manage the shutdown screens. I was having trouble with this because, the bitmap embedded into the LOGO.sys file is 320x400 pixels and it is also 256 colors, and the CUSTOM image that I want to ADD to the startup and shutdown screens is transparent and is 535x135 pixels. I am planning to convert this to a BMP, but it loses the transparency. Does anybody know if there any possible way to simply add the image that I described above to the top left corner of the startup screen and shutdown screen of Windows 98 SE? Thanks everyone!
