windows 95

what is the newest version of mozilla firefox browser the will function properly with windows 95 operating system? i have tried one of the newest of the old and it will not even startup. i get the " this program has performed and illegal action and will be shut down" message. which is what i get on the internet explorer with windows 95. that is why i started trying to use another browser on the internet. thanks.

With such an old OS I'd be surprised if you could get any modern browser to work.

I think Firefox 2.0 was the last one to work on Win95, but don't quite me on that. It might well be 1.5.

What version of IE is that? The original one was IE 4.0, if I remember correctly. The latest one that ran on Windows 95: IE 5.5. The next one (IE6.0) needs Windows 98?

Don't expect too much of it.

I've not ever seen either of those sites before. The only place I was able to get a download of IE6 several years ago was a college and it took 12 hours. LOL I was on dialup. Not sure I will ever need any of them but am downloading several apps right now.
