Anyone notice how the windows and boxes in Windows 8 has no 3d look, no shadows just flat and ugly. A new operating system should not take a step backwards visually. We should at least have the option. I think that is why Windows 8 is faster because Microsoft has stripped code, it would then need less system memory and longer battery life. Also faster boot times. But in a desktop I should have the option as in Windows 7 of turning on visual effects.
This is what happens when you port a OS from a portable device onto a desktop.
