Windows 8 not detecting dual monitors

I'm having a problem getting my dual monitors set up. My computer isn't detecting it. I'm running a dual core 64 bit processor on Windows 8. I have a Radeon HD 7970 Graphics Card, have just updated the drivers, have been into the settings of both the control panel display, and also the graphics card settings. I still can't get it to detect. I have the monitor cables hooked into a dual monitor plug in (1 male plugged into computer tower, 2 female for each monitor cord directly from monitors. Help??!?!!!?!?! Thank you.
