How do I dump Windows 8? This is by far one of the worst programs ever released.

Before you go do that and incur the usual issues about, well, let's try one thing.

Install Classic Shell from the link I'll add at the end to get back to what you may be wanting. I can't say I'm going back to 7 soon AFTER I added this. Window 8 is running great here at office and home.

Try Classic Shell. It makes Windows 8 look and feel like Windows 7. I have it on two PCs at home and 4 that I support. I agree that the new Metro mode stuff is for the birds, but with Classic Shell, you can do everything just like you do in Windows 7, Start button, Start Menu, Shut down, Control Panel, everything. And it's totally free.

MS had its head where the sun doesn't shine when they tried to force desktops & laptops to look like a phone or tablet, but thanks to folks like Sourceforge and Stardock, you can make Windows 8 something you can make reasonable use of. MS did take away the games, XP Mode, and the gadgets, another thing to get under our skins, but at least we have the option to install Classic Shell, Start8 (from Stardock for $5), and other similar little programs to make Windows 8 usable again.

Good luck.
