Question

Windows 8.1 no wifi internet

Dec 6, 2014 11:09AM PST

My laptop forced me to update to windows 8.1 yesterday and since then the wifi doesn't work, in a way that I can connect to every wifi and it would say it has internet access but I can't go on any websites.

I have tried the solutions on google but seems like people have different troubles than I do.
Tried updating and downgrading the wifi drivers, tried typing the 4 "netsh" commands in cmd but the last 2 won't work?
Tried ipconfig and the ips are fine.

What is the problem and how can I fix it? It is getting really frustrating, please help

Answer
sounds like it overwrote the wifi "key"

It won't even get open access like at mcDonalds, or Barnes and Noble, or with your router set to open access to test it? If it can do open access, but not when set to WEP or WPA then you need to set the same router key into your computer's wifi settings.

I had it forget/delete all my WiFi connections then added it back in.
