Resolved Question

Windows 8.1 Easy Transfer

Jan 23, 2014 3:54AM PST

I can't find this error anywhere else on the web and I'd appreciate any help that you can provide. I have two PCs both running Windows 8.1 and I want to transfer the files from one to the other using a Belkin easy transfer cable. However when I run Windows Easy Transfer I do not get the start screen, instead I get a screen stating 'Here's Whats Been Transferred' and the next screen only asks if I have already used Easy Transfer to transfer files. When I click 'No' the programme closes. I get absolutely no options to transfer. Its strange because when I run the programme on the other computer I get exactly the same result which seems to indicate that the problem is me! Does anyone have any similar experience or know what I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help.

do you have a flashdrive? Even a 16 GB can be had for under $15 in today's world. Also transfering by LAN is quicker. Have a router? Or a crossover LAN cable?

Thanks for your response. I've since found out that Windows 8.1 does not support Windows Eas Y transfer (its been deprecated) so your response is helpful.
