Question

Windows 7 wont connect to my qnap nas

May 9, 2016 12:10PM PDT

Hi guys

I have a windows 7 pc and a qnap ts453a nas. When i type in the nas ip address it won't connect to it. I also have a windows 8 laptop and when I do exactly the same thing with it a connection is made. I have spoken to someone at qnap and they say something is blocking it. I'm still waiting to hear back from then but can anyone help me?

I've seen that on wired versus wireless connections.

I know it's hard but tell more about the actual connections.

Hi Thanks for the reply.

I have my nas wired via ethernet to the router and my windows 7 pc also wired to the same router. If I open the file folder and on to my network it shows up but when I type in the nas ip address, double click the ip address or right click and try to launch Internet Explorer for q sync using qfinder pro nothing happens. Typing in the nas ip address gives me error code 500.

I can also login to my nas using my phone but can't connect to it using my windows 7 pc

Is that a web code error?

That means there's something up with the Web server on the NAS. Since that's failing and you are not using any Antivirus/Web Protection suite I think it's time to try other than a web browser to connect.
