Windows 7 to Windows 10

May 1, 2016 3:37PM PDT

I upgraded to Windows 10 from windows 7 Everything seems to be working fine except when it goes to sleep or shuts down, it doesn't want to start back up. Screen says it isn't receiving a signal and goes to sleep. I have to unplug it to get it to finally come back up to loading . What can be wrong? I hate to pay Microsoft to fix it.

That can't be win10.

It's just a coincident. I don't know what it is but I bet it's hardware issue. So when you push the power button, nothing happen? How about push and hold for about 7second, then release...then push again as though turning it on?

I shut it down, I hold the button down and finally unplug it from power. Then it usually comes on an acts fine. Sometimes when I hold down the button to turn it on it start beeping. It worked fine with Win. 7

That sounds like hardware to me.

Windows is not running at that time so how could it be Windows?

If you feel it is Windows 10, time to go back.

I seem to recall something like this happen to me also.

Now I wish I had written down the solution. Try this, disconnect the cd/dvd drive and see if you still need to unplug. I know, it doesn't make sense. But if it's not too much trouble...try it anyway.

It is all in a tower. I don't see how I could do that. The reason I say it is Windows 10 is because it doesn't do that with Win. 7

Stay with W7.

I've seen this before but the issue stayed when we went back to W7 so it was hardware. Here you went back so you have something new going on.

Last idea? Is the BIOS all up to date as that's all there is running at the moment of power on or what runs when the power button is hit.
