I usually find things installed later that cause this. But without any items to look over I can't offer anymore than "What's not stock?"
for some time now I've been receiving the 'waiting for background progs to close' message when I shut down my Dell desktop PC. It only flashes up for a moment or two so I've been ignoring it as the PC seemed to close down ok afterwards. But for the last week or so I've also been having problems starting up. Before i get to the password stage I just get the black/white screen with the 'Windows' Error Recovery' message (Windows did not shut down successfully etc.). It doesn't seem to be able to move on from this stage, but keeps repeating this window/message over and over before finally starting-up. Today it happened 12 times before start-up and I'm concerned as it seems to be getting worse. Are the shut-down and start-up problems connected? Is there any advice you can offer please (simple advice that is!!) ... thanks ![]()
