Windows 7 Slow to run windows 2000 program on network.

Feb 23, 2011 7:53AM PST

We have a Windows 7 laptop that we have on a wired network. The network seems fast to access all the other computers on the network (4). However, when we try to run a program from our Windows 2000 machine it takes a super long time to load and is slow to respond to network requests. The other computers on the network are running XP and have no problem with this computer or this program.
We are running a DLink router thru a Dlink Switch to the network.

Any suggestions appreciated.

I did not change the network adapters speed, I left it at autonegotiation. I will try this today but I don't hold out much hope.

The only other comment I have is that for reasons we know about, your average IT staffer won't call in for support. I've had great luck with the search I supplied but then again our office is full of programmers that have backgrounds in low level network apps even to the point of the code that runs in routers.
