Windows 7 Scanning Software For HP LaserJet 3330

by corndale / January 11, 2010 5:42 PM PST

I located and installed printer drivers for my HP LaserJet 3330 for Windows 7. However, I have not been able to locate scanning software for Windows 7 for this printer. The scanning software on the original installation disc was for Windows XP and earlier, and does not work under Windows 7, hopefully free. How can I get the scanning feature on my printer to work under Windows 7? I especially want the ability to scan documents from the scanner on my printer to a PDF file. I have a Dell Studio XPS 435MT running Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

I even looked at Vuescan and it's not on that list.

If you need to use this, use it on your old machine.

Please explain further your reply. What I am supposed to use on my HP LaserJet 3330 (old machine)?

I think English has failed us again. Vuescan on google and you find out what that is. Sorry if I don't link it but it's not supported.

As to the second comment I think many are upset over this so complain about it but to use this I many have to plug it into some old machine.

The scanning program might be hidden into the main folder.

Try this direct link to HP's driver support download page:
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareIndex.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodNameId=66367&prodTypeId=18972&prodSeriesId=66359&swLang=8&taskId=135&swEnvOID=4063

And, choose the biggest one of the three. The 61Mb in size of a download package. Hope you have cable broadband for such a huge download.

Once installed, find the folder of that installed package and, browse down the sub-folders. It might have a scanner program that has not been enabled yet. Maybe, you will have to set it all up for scanner functionality. Probably have to make an Icon to your desktop directly from the main launchable executable file of such scanning app.

Good Luck with this aging multi-function laser printer!

WebScan to PDF software
by AndrewLekenko / January 18, 2011 4:43 AM PST

I'm using WebScan from ScanWorks http://www.scanworkssoftware.com/webscan.aspx . It is free, works fine on Windows 7 (even on 64 bit system) and can save to PDF. More over it is possible to scan with it from any computer in network because it allows sharing your scanner.
