Question

Windows 7 restarts on wake up from sleep !!!!

by Gohary936 / March 25, 2013 12:46 AM PDT

Hi there, So, I just re-installed widows 7 on my HP ProBook 6460b laptop using the official CD that came with it and then installed all the drivers also from the CD that came with my laptop. Then, whenever I put the computer to sleep, it does so without problems. When I try to wake it up however, it restarts instead of waking up. Appreciate your help in advance Happy

P.S: This is like the 10th time I re-install windows and the drivers and I never had this problem before.

Sounds grim.

Try waking from hibernation instead because if the machine was indeed reloaded the same way as before it tells me it needs repairs.

Since we can resume from hibernation in just a few more seconds, I'd work around this one.

Good advice, but what kind of repaires (Ram, CPU, HDD) ??? O.o

I'm buying a new laptop in a couple of months anyway, so is it worth repairing it ??

I can't guess it.

You can crash on purpose (that's what the reboot is about) after you clear all the logs in the Event Viewer. There may be a clue there what's going on.
