UNPLUG all USB things when installing.
Also, any clue why it crashed? Maybe there is a message about a failing hard drive that we need to fix first?

If I am posting this in the wrong section, I apologize in advance and only ask that I be directed to the section where my post belongs as it would benifit me enormousley..
My dell inspiron 1545 recently crashed. It loads to the windows welcome screen, but the only thing visible is the back ground and mouse cursor. Nothing else, no icons, no menu bar, nothing. Ive tryied running in safe mode, tryed the repair computer option in startup, i think ive tryed everything. Since I lost my Windows Operating system and Dell Utilities CD, I called DELL and had them mailed to me thinking to myself I would pop in the Windows CD and just Restore the whole computer, whipe out everything if neccessary.
Now that I have my Windows Operating System and Dells Utilities and Drivers CD's; I have done the following... I have my Laptop set to Read the CD Drive at startup, so it automatically runs the windows 7 setup. Once windows loads, the setup asks 1. To select my language... Then it asks to select Time and Keyboard method, then finally I Get to the Windows 7 Screen where I see an "Install now" Button, once i click on this the screen changes to "Setup is starting..." There is where the problem comes in to play. It just sits on that screen "Setup is starting...." For hours, infact forever. Nothing Happens, I have even left the computer running over night and sure enough the following morning I am still in a "Setup is starting.." Screen..
Please, I ask ANYONE with any knowlege on my situation to give me a hand here.
