I am trying to install FrontRange Goldmine on a computer. The problem is, when I install, the intent is to install "pointing" to a pre-existing database. The installation process provides a means to do this, you select a button that says "install for pre-existing database" and then below is a box to type the full path, or you can brows to select the location. The core problem is that I can not select a "mapped network drive" as the reference point for the pre-existing database. This problem never occurred when doing the install in Windows XP, and .... I'd say, not a specific configuration problem to my computer because my co-worker has the same problem. The problem exists (at the very least) on the following equipment.
OS: Windows Home Premium (64-bit)
HW: Lenovo E520
To reiterate, I can mount the network drive the database is on, I can go to "explorer" and see the content. I have full control of the mount point from the OS, but when I start the GoldMine install, and it finally says, ~"select the location of the pre-existing DB instance"~ The mount point (no mount points) are available to select as the option.
Thanks in advance for any, and all assistance. This is a real headache of a problem, now you see it, now you don''t and guess why?
