That question is put forward often in the CNET Spyware forum. The consensus among many moderators is that the best protection is the user. The antivirus and firewall is just the second line of defense yet today you are finding folk flame about "antivirus didn't protect the PC." Which is true.
About outlook 2003. Install that FIRST and the patches or else you'll lose a lot of time. I learned about it and write about that issue at http://forums.cnet.com/5208-6129_102-0.html?threadID=380443&tag=forums06;forum-threads
After that, install Office 2007 and the word on the street is that Outlook 2003 still works. I don't have any word about BCM.

I am about to change to Windows 7 and also Office 2007, but I would like to use Outlook for Office 2003? The reason is that Outlook now has to be purchased for about $90 Aust.
Also on my XP box with Office 2003, I would like to install the business contact manager which when you try to install it indicates that it needs Service Pack 1, will this work with Service Pack 3?
Also any ideas on the best free virus scanner and firewall for a friend who is short of funds and normally gets my old computer when I update.
Can you please help me and him?
Thank you.
