Oct 1, 2012 3:50PM PDT

My windows 7 DVD player stopped playing DVD's. I put in DVD, hit play, nothing. The computer page screen comes on, right click for play....Zip. Nothing appears on computer page screen to show the video is even the machine. I'm quite new at this and am clueless....

Let's start with a basic check. Find a DVD with data on it (for example, your Windows 7 installation DVD). Can you see the files on it in Computer (or Windows Explorer)?
And what does Computer (or Windows Explorer) show as the contents of the DVD's you want to play?

Just click on the right drive letter to 'open' it.

Try of your DVD drive works, by putting a dats disk in, it might be the DVD drive or thr theres is a problem with your dvd. Also try putting your DVD disk and drive in a different pc.
Hope this helps!
