AVI is a container so that didn't tell anyone what encoding it might be.
Stop and learn about containers, encoding and what WMM supports. It may take a few days or weeks but without that knowledge you may lash out at any one fool enough to help.

I have a large mp4 video about 2.5 g. I want to put it on movie maker and make a dvd. I've tried dragging it into Movie maker but it will not do whatever it does. I'm getting an error. I've tried to convert it to avi using 3 different programs. 1 - did not convert it at all and the other 2 did successfully converted it but, when I dragged it into movie maker, when I play it, it "skips" meaning, it'll play for about 5 seconds and then it stops for about 2 1/2 seconds and then it'll play for another 5 seconds and stop again. I tried a 4th conversion program, converting it to wpm. but it won't play at all in movie maker.
If I click on the video itself, which is saved on my desktop, without putting it into movie maker, it plays just fine as an mp4.
How can I and what can I do to get this video into movie maker and be able to play normally so that I can eventfully make a dvd?
