In about 5 minutes it's reset with NTPASSWD. I don't detail NTPASSWD anymore now that it's so widely documented and not to mention free on the web.
Dell does allow you to go get Vista as noted at http://forums.cnet.com/7726-13974_102-5325452.html?tag=posts;msg5325452
Bought a used Dell Inspiron 1420 which originally came with Windows Vista. Now it has Windows 7 installed on it.
The previous owner forgot the password to the only session on the laptop and therefore cannot access any information/feature on the computer past the login screen.
I wish to reinstall Windows 7 (I do not have a disk) or simply restore the computer to its factory settings (even if that means going back to Windows Vista). I do not need to backup any files or programs.
Please share any solution you may have for my situation.
Thank you very much in advance.
