Windows 7 Locking Up

Feb 8, 2010 8:14AM PST

I am using Windows 7 Professional, 64 bit. I mostly use Firefox for browsing and it is locking up ALOT! So I went to IE to see if it was any better. Nope. Same lock up problem. I also have this problem with Quickbooks. Locks up constantly since I've gone to Windows 7. I don't see any discussion here about this issue. I have googled and found others complaining of the same thing. Haven't found any suggestions on how to fix it though. Any thoughts?

I have the AMD Phenom(tm)II X4 910 Processor, 2.6GHz with 8GB RAM

Did you check with the machine's maker on this?

No make or model so who knows if your HP or other name machine needs some BIOS or other updates. All this is never automatic.

I'm sorry. Do you need more information? I'll be happy to supply it. I'm certainly not an expert. I thought I was giving you everything. I have an HP Model e9220y.

If there is anything else missing please let me know. You might have to tell me where to find it.

Sadly.

I googled that model and promptly found others with boot issues, lockups and more.

I'm going to defer to HP on this one. Maybe they have a fix for all of you with this model.
