Windows 7 internet connection

Jan 22, 2010 4:11PM PST

I facing a problem with the internet connection. Last time when I use Windows XP, I can just plug in the Ethernet cable and directly online. When I use Windows 7, I plug in the cable in and my computer will start to verify and identify, then it may can connect internet, but Network and Sharing Center displayed unidentified network. I try to restart many times my computer and modem but still unidentified network. Then I run for CMD ping, I ping with 192.168.1.1, but result is all packet lose. I am using a PC with Asus P5N-MX motherboard and Riger 108WL modem router. My Windows version is Windows 7 Home Premium. Will it be my modem problem or Windows 7 problem ?

i think i had the same problem before cause in windows xp pro it used to make a connection icon on the desktop now you have to click on the local area connection in the taskbar and click on my connection and click connect and works just fine. try click on the local area connection in the taskbar it'll bring up your connection to the internet then click it and click connect see if that works for you.
hope it helps!

Right click connection go to properties update driver.

Also, try connection trouble shooter, see "help and support".

Contact your ISP. Looks like an address up date problem, if the above fails.
