Windows 7 file system

Dec 4, 2009 5:53AM PST

I want to access the Windows 7 file system, and navigate to:

C:\ProgramFiles\Documents&Settings\and so on

in order to add a file in one of the folders.

It was straightforward in XP, but I can't find how to do it in Windows 7.

Please can someone tell me how?

I've tried searching for the required folder, but it doesn't work!

Many thanks.

Keith

Just 2 questions.

1. Even in XP I never found a C:\ProgramFiles\Documents&Settings\

2. In Vista and now 7 you may have to learn about JUNCTIONS. C:\Users is the new home for many things.

So there it is. C:\Documents and Settings is no more. So it's left behind as a remnant but not used.

Thanks for your reply, Bob.

I meant C:\Documents and Settings.

Found nothing in C:\Users

If it's no more, the Thunderbird Profile must be somewhere!

I'll learn about JUNCTIONS as you suggest.

Bob.

Thanks for pointing me to where to find about Thunderbird profiles.

The reason I 'took the long road' was because Thunderbird is the immediate issue. I thought the general information regarding navigating to files and folders would be useful for future use.

Cheers

Thanks Tara and Bob for your help. I appreciate it.

I am learning a lot about the Windows 7 file system and have sorted my immediate Thunderbird problem.
