windows 7 explorer thumbnail preview problem

windows 7 explorer slow.i have lot of pictures in a folder, it takes long time to see pictures in thumbnail view ,and it's slow when i try to move some pictures to another folder.windows explorer green status bar progressive and slow.it's not fast as xp.what's the reason?.IT takes time to sort the pictures as modified.help

config:
Intel dual core 1.8 ghz,asus p5gcmx,2 gb ram.160gb hard disk,windows 7 ultimate

The 2 possible solutions:

1. Work with subfolders. Each one is smaller, so you'll notice the issue less.
2. Set the folder to another view: no thumbnails, only details.

especially his point #2.

Windows Explorer, (eg My Documents, Music, Photos, etc), struggles with image files that have become corrupt. This manifests itself in Thumbnail or Icon view as Windows Explorer attempts to render the images into the smaller thumbnails or icons. If it comes across any corrupt images it can often fail. Changing the view to List or Details will overcome that.

Also a large number of image files has been known to baulk Explorer.
