windows 7 error 403

a few days ago my avg anti virus wouldn't work and the avg notification suggested I reinstall. this download wasn't allowed and a window has appeared on my laptop saying server returned status code 403.
avg and my computer is now working o k but I cannot get rid of this error 403 window. I've tried system restore. any ideas please?

Not really clear what "download wasn't allowed" exactly means, but it could be http-error 403 "Forbidden" (see https://www.lifewire.com/403-forbidden-error-explained-2617989 ) that isn't handled correctly by AVG's download program.

A simple reboot should suffice to remove it, if it's that.
