Hello everybody!
I have just purchased a Gateway NV78 Intel Core Duo T6600 running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit and it was just running fine until I found that once in a while the desktop items would "lock" sometimes.
What it is actually happening is that when I left click to select a single icon, it shows the square silhouette but it doesn't let me select it. Also, when I try to left click and drag to select multiple items they also can?t get selected. Rarely, I'm not even able to draw the selection rectangle. In order to select and or open an item from the desktop, I have to click two or three times until it selects.
I thought it was a problem with my wireless mouse but even when using the track pad I get the same problem. I found that it must have something to do with the background, because I switched to the Windows Theme and it started working fine, then when I switched to the others like Nature or Architecture it started acting up again! I also downloaded other themes FROM Microsoft website like Bings Best and Hapiness Factory and they were all acting up like that too. I ran Symantec Business Client and I didn?t find anything.
This happens once in a while, it isn?t consistent, but it is very annoying considering that I just bought this computer. I?m also concerned if it has to do with any new security treats.
Thank you all!
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
