Question

Windows 7 BSOD after sleep mode

Sep 10, 2018 10:01AM PDT

Hello! My computer got a BSOD after waking it up from sleep mode. The error was "Page fault in nonpaged area". I have attached the minidump. Any help as of how to resolve it will be appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
Is The Computer Functioning Normally Now?
Sep 10, 2018 11:03AM PDT

BSOD's happen occasionally and they can be simple "hiccups". The computer may just be having a bad day. So is the computer running correctly now? If so, clean off some of the junk programs, remove junk and temporary files, and try running "chkdsk /f /r /x" from and elevated command line. If you can't do it it normal Windows, then restart in Safe Mode and try it there.

Unfortunately, you haven't told us anything about the computer so it's hard to provide anything further. (Make and model, laptop or desktop, age of the computer, what you use the computer for, when the last time you cleaned out the insides of dust and junk, any unusual programs you might have installed, etc.)

Hope this helps and let us know more.

It's functioning OK so far

No problem since it happens a couple of hours ago. It's a desktop computer with an i7 6700K and a GTX 1070, 16GB of RAM and a Samsung SSD. For the last couple of months due to summer break it is being used lightly for text editing, browsing, movies etc.

Then I Wouldn't Worry Too Much About It..

Restart the computer, perform the steps I mentioned above and if it seldom happens again, you're good.

Hope this helps.

Here's a thing. A single BSOD every few months

Is not something to be concerned about. But some folk yelp at the single BSOD and start investigating. They usually never find it.
