Computer Keeps Locking and Going To The Login Screen I have stopped the sleep mode on this new computer. If i don't move the mouse every minute it goes to screensaver and then I have to sign in again. it is annoying, anyone have an answer on how to stop it from doing this. btw, I don't like windows 7 at all.
thank you.

Off the top of my head, sounds like your screen saver is set

to a very short time. You can both extend that time and change the setting to require the login as well. Have you looked for this yet?

windows 7 annoying
Sep 21, 2010 8:59PM PDT

Hi thank you for getting back to me. It took some doing, but finally found the screensaver settings, power settings etc. I had to search for it though. Windows 7 is so confusing to me. I have my old computer as well and would love to get certain things only, transferred. I had bought bejeweled and now I am afraid I will have tto buy it again. If you know of how I can transfer certain files. please let me know. I changed the settings, btw on the screensaver window from 1 min to 30, so it seems to be ok.
thank you again,
linda

Well, there are things you can copy, and there are things that won't work after copying. So it depends on what these 'certain things' are.

To copy those certain things that can be copied, we recommend 2 things:
a. Just restore from your backup.
b. Copy to and from a USB-stick or an external hard disk.

No i havent tryed this yet but i will because it is so annoying getting knocked out all the time.
I have only had this laptop a short time & i am still learning it.
U wouldnt have any advice on downloading & installing from cnet another little annoying problem that keeps poping up when it tells me that the comodo internet security progam i am trying to put in isn't reaching the target platform. i have changed the user account as it recommended under fixes.
