We have malware along with the old corrupt profile issue which means we can't ignore backup and restore along with having a spare Admin account when these troubles strike.

Some of your newer Windows users are rather amazed when this happens. Your seasoned Microsoft users nod and groan.

Try rebooting and see if your other accounts work OK.
