The age of internet everywhere is not here yet. Maybe that's what you asked for and they were just being honest.
Since your laptop has wifi, how about a MIFI?

My laptop, which runs Windows 7, is great at home as it connects wirelessly to my modem (Plusnet). However, when I leave the vacinity of the signal I cannot get broadband. I have tried a Vodafone dongle but even Vodafone are aware of a problem and suggested I use a wireless modem that does not connect through my usb port. So I bought a Huewai with a Vodafone broadband sim, it recognises the modem but still will not connect to the internet. The same thing applies to my iPod Touch by the way. Anyway, I went into my local Phones 4 U and even they could not guarantee a connection with a 3GS phone.
My technician says it is a software problem. I am NOT computer savvy !! I really do not understand the technical jargon, but I am trying to learn, even the hard way! LOL
However, I would like to think that I could use my laptop elsewhere and not just next to my desk top (which runs XP)
Does anyone out there have a positive response to my dilemma, hopefully one that will not cost the earth although I would like this to be resolved so....whatever.
Thank you in anticipation, Lassie51
