I've had Windows 7 operating system for a couple months and like the software compared to previous operating systems from Microsoft.

My question, setting-up Display from the Control Panel Appearance & Personalization set-up page is no problem except for Screen Saver. I have display set to use Photos after ten minutes but the screen saver never works after the allotted time, the screen just hibernates after ten minutes. Anyone have any suggestions why screen saver doesn't work properly using photos or any of the other screen savers, I'm an old retired IT professional for the past sixteen years trying to stay-up to date on technology.

By chance are your power save settings set to put the monitor into sleep mode after, I don't know, say 10 minutes?

Thanks Jimmy, it was set to 10 minutes and I changed the time to 30 minutes, your suggestion was very helpful and I hope your solution fixes the problem as I was a little baffled trying to find a solution. I'll definitely let you know after ten minutes has passed for the screen saver to kick-in, whenever that might take place. Thanks again.

Try going into device Manager > network adapters > select the network card > right click and select properties > In power management tab
clear the check mark Allow this device to wake the computer. Does this help?

Possible Fix

Thanks Cassandra for your input, there is no need for me to do your suggestion as Jimmy's solution work fine but I'll keep your suggestion for future reference, just in case I have problems down the road. I did go to Device Manager and viewed your 2nd suggestion which was great advice for users of Windows operating system software as I read through the messages for the fix.
