hi dude
i know what your on about, i dont have a domain but planing on setting one up at home. i got a wirless ADSL router last week and noticed that it connects to the network after you log in once the application loads.
i did a test where i had my second computer pinging my first computer.. and i was correct it does not join the network to after you log in.
with a domain this is useless as it is imposible for the PC to arthenticate against the domain.
if you worked out a way around this let me know as i would be very interested..
I called net gear support. they are morons. they tell me the only way to do this is to log into a local account on the PC let the network connect. then log out and log back in on the domain and the network will still be running..
pfft F that.
Cheers
Steve
Hi, I am having a wierd problem with my wireless setup.
Windows 2003 domain server (dhcp)
is connected to a switch and then connected to the Netgear router (dhcp on router disabled for use only as a Access Point using WPA).
My problem is that when I try to connect a client through wireless it comes up as "limited or no connectivity" but when I connect a ethernet wire to the client it gets the proper ip addresses on both the ethernet adapter and wireless adapter assigned by the dhcp server and I could then disconnect the wired line and keep on using wireless. But if I only connect through wireless initially the dhcp isn't assigning an ip address.
Anyone know a solution to this problem.
