Question

Windows 10 will not recognise CD rom Drive

Hi Guys just upgraded from windows 7 64bit to Windows 10 and it will not recognise CD Drive there is nothing wrong with the CD Drive as I rolled back to Windows 7 again for a short while and it worked perfectly can anyone shine some light on this annoying problem

It's likely you need a driver for that drive.

Look in Device Manager. You'll either see nothing or an entry with ! or ? next to it for the drive. Missing drivers are fairly common for folks upgrading. Worst case you can always buy an external CD/DVD drive for around $25.

Thanks for your reply but I found this as worked .

1. Run Command Prompt as an Administrator.

2. Copy/type the following and enter

reg.exe add "HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Controller0" /f /v EnumDevice1 /t REG_DWORD /d 0x00000001

3. Reboot the system
