Question

Windows 10 update issue

Aug 22, 2017 12:08PM PDT

Windows Update tries to install a non-existent Canon IP90 printer driver and repeatably fails. I've checked the Device Manager, Apps and Features, searched the registry. I'm very stumped. I still get a daily annoying popup saying that it is still failing to update the driver. I removed this printer two years ago and the updates continue to this day. I've tried to shut off any drive updates as a recommendation before but this did not stop it. I'm believing that there is a ghost driver in this machine that won't leave. Any help is appreciated.

I don't see a similarity to my issue as there is no driver installed anywhere that I can find for the Canon IP90 on my system.

Didn't go for similar.

Found what looks to be your posts in other places. So I didn't duplicate anything I read in your other posts.

May have missed something but didn't go for similar. I wanted to try that other method which is why I only gave the one link plus I tested it on a few W10 laptops.

Appreciate the info..

I tried this with the registry info along with the hack and after actually running the windows update again, the "Updates are available. Canon driver update for Canon Inkjet iP90 showed up again. I'm fed up with this system. If I can find the original disk, I'll probably wipe it and re-load the operating system. I appreciate all the advice.
