...your schooling online. However, if it's just content you want to download to your computer and then use in windows and want it quickly, boot a LIVE DVD of Mint Linux and get it quick that way, then let the updates of W10 happen later on.

Scroll down to see what it's about. I gave up on Windows, only use this now. Got tired of al. the problems that kept increasing with each new version of Windows.
Nothing but trouble with the last two or three updates. Warning appears in the middle of crucial school work, offers opportunity to schedule at a more convenient time. I do so on screen supplied, but guess what? No button to confirm new time, and no message saying it is scheduled, so I'm left wondering. And, my thought process has been interrupted. Fast forward to next morning, at least 6 hours after I set for update time. Open the laptop, and either it's slow overall, or Internet can't connect. So...restart, and, guess what? The l-o-o-o-n-g update process gets underway JUST NOW, putting me even further behind and worrying because I wonder if I did something harmful to this delicate flower of an OS that will come back to haunt me in terms of performance. Guess what? It does! Can't get online more than 60 seconds without hanging. Chrome, Edge, IE,same. Can't + get to class. Did I mention I am in an ALL ONLINE graduate program? This time, after first l-o-o-o-n-g, yellow screen update and restart, got a blue screen (lighter shade than BSOD) with white text indicating I'm once again to be patient whilst all is made safe for me in the online environs. Which by now I bloody well appreciate because I can't get online long enough to run Avast or Malwarebytes, my usual guardians. Anyway, it is 12:30+ p.m where I am. My Chrome placards are still missing, Day Four. And I long for Microsoft Updaters to get it together.
I wanted originally to confirm that the blue screened update messages were indeed from no-one more nefarious than minimalist MS Updaters, but don't know how to post pix by phone. Brand new here.
Second, aside from sharing experience and seeking reassurance, wanted to put it out there that updates aren't running smoothly, and how.
Thanks!
