Question

Windows 10 Pro installation

Jul 18, 2016 10:27AM PDT

I am currently running Windows 7 Pro on my desktop. When I try to upgrade to Windows 10 pro it shows my upgrade option only as Window 10 rather than Windows 10 pro. My Windows 7 Pro installation is legal, OEM and activated.

After it was done it now shows Windows 10 Pro. But during the install, no sign it was going to be Pro.

I can see that this could be upsetting to folk today. Remember that Microsoft is a company that is from another time. They expect you to have backups and more.

Basically as I see it, MS Win10 upgrade tends to treat itself in either 32/64-bit install. Its later after install is finished recognize what it is finally called. Yeah, it may not up front be so forward, but it gets settled once done.

the version of the OS (Win 7 or Win 8.1) that you are upgrading. MS knows when it checks when it verifies whether the OS being upgraded is activated.
