For me, same old story.

Draconian rules for app store, no side loading, not an open market means I can't justify going near this one.

That link didn't write iOS and Android apps, did it?

I write apps for many platforms and Microsoft's insistence on a non-open system that has less users than Apple or Android makes it a tough sell.

The article talked about porting apps, not that they would run.

Microsoft could do the investors a favor and forget Windows Phone.

Windows 10 changes phone
Sep 9, 2015 11:23PM PDT

with Windows 10 for Phones Microsoft has gone further and could, if the implementation is right, redefine how we see phones. Windows 10 powers the experience and it's cohesive across all platforms, with apps being useable across them all. Working in Office on your phone plugged into a monitor is exactly the same as it would be if you were using a desktop, meaning that serious work can be done on a phone.

The wall.

Microsoft's walled garden means I can't easily put my apps on this phone. Remember these are MY APPS, that I wrote. Microsoft also has a history of telling us to buy a new phone with each issue of the Phone OS.

Microsoft is not serious enough to me to consider this product.
