Question

Windows 10, lost files and settings and keyboard is American

by Danqing / December 15, 2015 2:43 AM PST

Hi, today I logged on to my laptop (A Sony Vaio, can't remember what model exactly) and I had a pale blue screen with the dots to say loading and possibly something about preparing windows. When this finished, which didn't take very long I noticed my task bar (The one at the bottom which you pin programs to) had been cleared, and my background was the photo of a blue windows symbol which is the default lock screen for windows 10. Then I thought, no biggie it's fine. I decided to watch some of a TV series I'd downloaded and then noticed all my personal folders were empty (program files, program files 86 ect were fine). My desktop, videos, photos, documents and downloads, all gone. Thats when I decided to register here because reading some posts and answers here have helped me in the past, but when I tried to register here I noticed, despite what my keyboard says, ****+2 gives me the @ sign and shift+' gives me ". I decided to launch a game to see if anything else was up, I noticed I was getting double the fps, but all my settings were reset to default!

Sorry for the big chunk of text, but any help with this is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
