Question

Windows 10 laptop plugged in not charging

So for a few days now when I have gone to plug my laptop in, where it should say "plugged in, charging" it now says "plugged in, not charging". This has happened to me before so I took the same approach as I did the time before where I uninstalled my battery drivers and rebooted it, which at first didn't work last time but after a few try's it did eventually cooperate. But this time it just won't charge no matter how many times I uninstall my battery drivers and reboot it. My laptop doesn't have a removable battery so I can't take it out. Does anyone have any solutions on how to fix it?

Model Number

In reply to: plug in

The model number is 8265NGW, and yes I am able to use it when it is plugged in. When plugged in it works normally, runs just as smoothly but the battery doesn't drain, but it doesn't charge either.

What is this laptop?

In reply to: Windows 10 laptop plugged in not charging

https://www.google.com/search?q=8265NGW&gl=US does not find what this laptop is. About the removable battery, I've changed so many over the years so outside of the Microsoft Surface I just use YouTube to find out how and usually order up a new battery from Amazon.

There are only 3 parts that usually fault. The charger, battery and motherboard. The first two are cheap here. That last one I rarely write to change that.

Check the battery health charging settings

In reply to: Windows 10 laptop plugged in not charging

I had the same problem with my Laptop the battery got to 80% and stop charging.
on the menu bar, next to battery icon there is a small icon of a battery with a heart. this is a lifespan mode. click it and you'l get the battery health charging settings. my Laptop was set on Balance. so it stop charging at 80%. if you'l change it to full capacity mode the battery will charge to 100%.
