Question

Windows 10 laptop keeps Dropping HP Printer Connection

May 7, 2019 3:11PM PDT

My windows 10 OS laptop keeps dropping my HP printer and will not print. The printer is connected via a wifi network. I am using a native windows printer driver to connect this wireless HP printer. The printer's connection will maintain itself for one day and then will not connect the next and will be unable to print. The printer is completely good and serviceable.

Q) What would be the source of this problem and how can the problem be resolved?

Thank you for your assistance.

Why not use the driver for that printer from HPs site?
Dafydd.
PS. What is this printer model?

Here it turned out to be out of date router firmware and the printer driver.

I can't guess why the "native windows printer driver" but if that's used you complain to Microsoft which will just fob you off to HP using any number of dismissive answers.

In short: Use the HP issued driver if there is one, be sure the router firmware is current, the WiFi SSID is not hidden and test with the router firewall disabled.
