Question

Windows 10 icons dont highlight or react on click

May 14, 2017 12:33PM PDT

Hello!
2 days ago I ran into a problem - when I start up my windows and I am on desktop and go onto the icons, they highlight but dont seem to react to clicks, but when I manage to open a folder or internet browser after numerous of clicking, icons there dont react on clicks, they dont even highlight. I cant even close the window, the X doesnt highlight or react to click. The same goes for taskbar, it doesnt respond on my mouse actions. The start menu opens when I push down the windows key on my keyboard, but I cant do also anything in there with my mouse. I have tryed using other mouses and re-installing the windows 10 clean, since I thought that it might be faulty mouse or a virus on my computer. I have been looking for solution everywhere, but I couldnt seem to find any direct answer, I hope to find a solition here, because the computer is almost unusable with this issue.

P.S. If youre wondering, the computer is not old or anything, its 1 and a half year old laptop.

Did you try a new mouse?

Also does the window close on ALT+F4?

Yes, as I mentioned in the discision, I tryed other mouses.
And if the window is highlighted/selected (I dont know how to correctly say it since I am not native speaker), then I can close it with ALT+F4, but its a strugle to select the window, just like opening icons, I have to click numerous times to succeed.
