Resolved Question

Windows 10 Home - Classic Start Menu

Jan 2, 2016 8:31AM PST

I just got the Microsoft Surface 3.
I found out the Windows 10 is Home version.
How can I turn on the Classic Start Menu. There is no turn on button on the Control Panel - Status Bar - Start Menu tap is missing.

Thank you,

Windows 10 Home - Classic Start Menu
Jan 4, 2016 11:34AM PST

Thank you R. Proffitt for your quick responses.

Well, I tried, the Windows 10 Home version does not have Tablet Mode on/off option.
Looks like Microsoft did an excellent job of stripping Windows 10 Home version of anything reasonably useful.

Plead with upper managements, but acquiring 3rd party software needs acquisition processes and approval. So far, this Windows 10 Classic Shell requests sit on some in box waiting.

Tablet mode on our Microsoft Surface 3 but no classic start
Jan 7, 2016 10:51AM PST

Thank you, finally found the Tablet Mode switch on our Microsoft Surface 3 with Win 10 Home.

But setting either on Tablet Mode on or off still does not have the Classic Start Menu switch for this Win 10 Home version.
Too bad, our upper management disapprove setting 3rd party software for the Classic start shell.
Any suggestions?

Yes. BYOD.

At the office I work at I BYOD and never worry about this.

As to your upper management, they pay you by the hour so any decision to be lower productive means increased pay for you.

sadly, our job performance is not based on how many hours we spent but only how efficient and productive we can get our work done and how well we deal with customers to answer to their inquiry.

Try pressing the Windows button on your keyboard.

That brings up the Start menu on my Windows 10 systems, both Home and Pro versions. From there you can click All Apps and see the installed programs listed in alphabetical order.

That blows.

Maybe they purposely don't want you to perform well?
