Clarification Request
So the old hold down the power button isn't working either?

no external battery on the ideapad
the power button is locked up too
only thing I have left to try that I know of is let battery die
worst lock up I have ever seen and I am old enough to remember the commodore 64

READ CAREFULLY. There's a second power down system here. Press and HOLD the power button for up to 60 seconds to use the second power down feature. HOLD the button and release when it powers down. Many folk don't know this.
