windows 10 freezes(error id 56 application popup)whenever im

whenever im playing a game it can be from origin steam or a game like runescape and the pc freezes. i do not receive blue screens or signs of overheating. Ive reinstalled graphics drives with ddu uninstaller reinstalled latest drivers excluding beta drivers. Checked cpu, gpu, temps. downloaded cc cleaner cleaned out registry. im up to date on windows updates and all my drivers are properly workinng. Yet when i play a game it freezes randomly on different occasions out of nowhere, i then restart the computer and check the event viewer and theres only one error that stands out error id 56 application popup. i have a gigabyte h170m-d3h motherboard and i believe it has something to do with it being faulty or needing a bios update yet i cannot update my bios as it will not allow me.Should i replace the motherboard?

Cleaned out the registy is a big clue.

In reply to: windows 10 freezes(error id 56 application popup)whenever im

My friends in the repair centers love registry cleaners. Well, if only for the work it brings in.

That's not how to treat your machine.

I only have a motherboard as to what PC this is so take some time to tell all about this PC.

But about that BIOS. does list issues that could cause trouble. In this case I'd want the latest BIOS. But this does not mean that's the issue.

Bios (updated)

In reply to: bios update

I have updated my bios to the most recent one which is version 6 for gigabyte motherboards. But after 15 minutes of gaming it had freezed. But the error 56 on event viewer has not appeared anymore, so the freezing was not caused by the error but froze around the same time the error had appeared. I tried also disabling the c state and the freezing had stopped for about 3-4hours but continued after i tried to download league of legends. The last option is to replace parts but i dont know which part i would need to replace.

And this really upsets folk.

In reply to: Bios (updated)

After a BIOS udpate it's entirely possible the installed Windows needs a do over.

If not for that but the fact the OS was subjected to registry cleaning.

I have to cover another topic now. Someone just wasted my time in a discussion and what was highly suspect? The OS was cracked, pirated. Why did they think it should work?

reinstalled the windows after bios update

In reply to: And this really upsets folk.

Sadly even reinstalling windows has not worked after updating my bios and i have a registered windows 10 pc with a legitimate key but still nothing is working for the pc i bought some more ram that matched the same serial number from my gigabytes motherboard list so maybe new ram will help since it is a freezing problem but it only occurs during games and ive reinstalled my gpu drivers and ive benchedmarked my gpu no freezing during the uningine heaven benchmark.
Im sorry if i sound like im not trying but idk what else to do besides rma my cpu or motherboard.

Freezing so far

Has been traced back to hardware and sometimes drivers. Given the troubles this PC has, it's time to talk to it's maker to fix it.

I bought parts from microcenter

In reply to: Freezing so far

The parts were all purchased seperate from microcenter in march, and i built the pc from scratch. Would they have a free repair policy or would i be charged the 100 dollar repair fee?

My bet is repair is not free.

In reply to: I bought parts from microcenter

With that you are the system designer and have to correct any issue that comes up. That is you are responsible for check firmware versions and compatibility.

There are still some that want it to be a Windows issue but given the 100+ machines at the office, you won't get me to agree.

Finally fixed it (forgot to update)

In reply to: My bet is repair is not free.

After doing some research i decided to upgarde my motherboard to a msi z170 m3 motherboard and the cpu to a 6600k which fixed the freezing problem which goes to show that it was cpu/ motherboard related its been about a month and no signs of freezing which is a relief.
Anyone having this freezing error should trade in their cpu for another of the same kind of a different one as this problem relates to having a freezing skylake chipset.

Error id 56 Solution

In reply to: windows 10 freezes(error id 56 application popup)whenever im

Hello TEchESwift,

I have searched your query on a Search Engine and found that many people are facing and even faced the same issue. The solution what they had implemented is – they had removed the Realtek driver and let the Windows install the Generic one. This thing had helped them to resolve the same issue as you’re facing.

You can also give an attempt to this, and let us know if it works for you.

Good Luck!!!
