Question

Windows 10 for Atom chip computers.

Sep 16, 2015 7:10AM PDT

I have a Windows 8 computer running on an Atom chip and it doesn't seem that Windows 10 is available for it. Search for updates goes on an endless search.

"Intel Atom Z3775 Quad-Core" in the ASUS Transformer T100TA-H1 and it offered the Windows 10 upgrade which I accepted and it's all good.

So with an example in the office I can answer it's not an Atom problem.

I've found too many causes such as malware infections and more. Another laptop, which is not an Atom required us to factory restore before the updates and 10 would take. Maybe there was another path but clients pay by the hour so they wanted the fixed rate fix.

That tells me the OS has been infected or worse. As we have dual core Celerons on 10 now it's not the CPU again.

If you have some infection you can't get rid of, then a factory restore may be in your future.
