Windows 10 desktop icons (not tiles)

I have just moved to a Windows 10 system, from Windows XP.
In XP you could not only arrange your desktop Icons, but you could (and quite precisely) adjust their size (vertical size and horrizontal size I believe). Very handy and convenient.
Does anyone know if, and exactly how, this can be done in Windows 10?

And again, I am referring to desktop Icons, --like the 'shortcut Icons' one might choose to manually place on the desktop. (NOT the Windows 8/Windows 10 "Tiles" --Which at this point, I would probably like to simply get rid of altogether, although maybe I'll change my opinion as I become more familiar with them.)

And thanks to anyone who may have some insight in reseizing the real desktop Icons in Windows 10.
Dan D.
