The latest Windows Update caused this issue for quite a few folks. Read the discussion about it, plus the fix, at the link below:

Of course, if you have one of the older style PS2 keyboard and mouse, (a round plug on the wired keyboard/mouse plug into the back of the computer), then you can simply use the PS2 devices to uninstall the Windows Update mentioned in the article.
Hope this helps.

In order to fix a problem with KB 4074590 update continuallying failing, a site recommended I place my desktop in Airplane mode then reboot. So I did. Everything I have is wireless. Now I get to my login screen but have no way to type or move my mouse - cannot login or turn OFF airplane mode. What can I do? I connected a wired mouse but it doesn't seem to work in any of the USB ports. No wired keyboard. Do I have any options? Or should I visit Best Buy perhaps and ask them to fix it and while they're at it, fix my update as well? Any ideas? I tried hitting FN + PrtScr on the wireless keyboard. I don't have a wired keyboard.
