After installing the Windows 10 April Update a number of previous settings went haywire. If you haven't checked your System Restore setup, do so. It's probably disabled on all drives. Just sayin'.

Also, it's important to note that "Homegroup" is no longer used on Windows 10 v1803. If you had all your computers shared using "Homegroup", it would be best to set up so they're no all using the same "Workgroup" name. (RIGHT click on "This PC" on the desktop, choose "Properties", then "Advanced system settings" link, then the "Computer Name" tab. You can create and join a workgroup there.)

That said, in order to get the system to 'see' the computers and show up in "Network", I had to re-set the type of network which was being applied to all the computers. Here I have a small home office type of network which should be the same as most home networks. Both computers are using Windows 10 PRO. First, I started with the "main" computer, a wired/ethernet computer here, then I clicked on the Start button-Settings icon-Network and Internet and I looked at the network "Status". Here, it showed up as a "Public Network: which is not what it was before. I selected the blue "Change connection properties" and selected the box next to"Private". I then restart the computer.

Once that was done, I went back to the same "Network Status" page and clicked on the "Network and Sharing Center", then the blue link on the left "Change advance sharing settings". Once there, I made sure to place CHECK mark in the box next to "Turn on Network Discovery" and "Turn on File and printer Sharing". I then restarted the computer and things went back to normal on this computer.

I followed the same instructions on the other computer on my network but although it correctly changed to a "Private Network", the shared computers couldn't be "seen" in the "Network" icon. At this point, I went back to the "Change advanced sharing settings" location and UNCHECKed the box that says: "Turn on Automatic setup of network devices" in the "Turn on Network Discovery" section.and I restarted the computer. I checked again and it didn't seem to fix things so I placed a CHECK mark back in the same box and restarted. Upon restart, everything was back to normal.

I know this is a little bit of a run around, but it worked for me. And it's also important to remember, you should still be able to access the other computers by opening the "Network" icon on your desktop and typing: \\COMPUTERname (using the name of the remote computer) in the address bar, then press "Enter" and as long as the remote computer is still sharing, you should be taken to the correct computer.

Hope this helps.
