Question

Windows 10 1903 and classic shell

Jun 24, 2019 12:18PM PDT

I have windows 10 1903 and my classic shell still works. Should I wait until it doesn't work to uninstall or just do it now so maybe no problems in future. I just can't have problems as I am not a tech so you guys have always helped me greatly. I know they have a classic start but after getting used to windows 10 there start doesn't bother me. Just wondering if I should wait for a problem with it. Thank you in advance

Have You Tried The New Open Shell?
Jun 26, 2019 11:51AM PDT

Classic Shell stopped developing its version in December of 2017 but another group took over the same basic build and started up Open Shell. It supports the changes so far in Windows 10 but even its latest build is from September 2018. Sorry, I haven't used the new one though.. See the link below:

If you choose to use it, I'd probably uninstall the old and install the new.

On the other hand, Windows 10 has an easier Start button and usage seems doable by most...and if you feel comfortable with it, then uninstall the Shell items and give it a try. You could always reinstall it should you decide to.

Hope this helps.

Trying the windows 10 start
Jun 28, 2019 12:17PM PDT

I have been using the windows 10 start and after working with it a couple of days it is doable and I even like it. Just had a learn a little but that's what keeps your mind sharp. Again I have been brave enough to do things because of all the help I have received and I so appreciate it.
