Window Live Messanger

Feb 2, 2011 11:01AM PST

Hi all,
I do have a little problem: I would like to get read of the Window Live Messenger. I don't use it and never will and because of it the loading of the initial software takes longer than usual.
Can I do this by delete the file from the program file?? Would this cause any problems to other program since it is part of Windows Life??
If I only could stop it loading up every time I switch the computer on that would be ok but I don't know how to do it and if it is possible.
Thanks for your answers.
G.

First step
Feb 2, 2011 9:31PM PST

First step is to try and prevent it from running at Startup. Do this;

1] Open the Start Menu and in the Search bx, type in Run.

2] Select the top option under Programs for Run.

3] In the new window, type in MSCONFIG and click OK.

4] In the new window, goto the Startup tab, scroll down and look for Windows Live Messenger. If you find it, remove the tick then click Apply/OK.

See if that stops WLM from loadig at Startup.

If it's not running anymore ...

it should be possible to uninstall it from Control Panel. As far as I know (I can't check right now) it's a separate item in the list.
