Such Upgrades Usually Require Updated Drivers

Unfortunately, you've told us nothing about your computer make and model, or the specific graphics card being used. Also, it's important to know whether you have and integrated/onboard card, or a separate, dedicated card, or both. (If you happen to have both, be sure to disable the one you don't wan t to use in "Device Manager".)Try visiting the the computer manufacturer, or the graphics card manufacturer's website and download their updated Windows 8.1 drivers for all the devices on your computer, including the graphics card.. Sometimes, it's the motherboard/chipset drivers that's required also.

Hope this helps
